“Why am I so nervous?” Skye fidgeted in her seat.

“Cause you overthinking. Bree is cool people… you and her gonna hit it off,” I assured her.

Bree wasn’t like those stuck-up chicks that acted funny. She was down to earth, funny and gave my man, Yayo, a run for his money. Their relationship was always so up and down that you never knew where they stood. I don’t know how many times Bree popped out on us when we were working.

She always assumed he was out there cheating or doing some wild shit like in the past. Yayo gave all that shit up when he and Bree got married. The way he used to be out there, to how he acted now was different. All he wanted was scotch, weed and his wife throwing down in the kitchen.

“What if she doesn’t think I'm right for you? Friends could be very judgmental… ‘cause they know what’s best for their friend.”

“Nobody knows what’s best for me, but me.” I pulled down the back alley of Capones.

Capones was located in West New York, New Jersey. It was a little hole in the wall spot that made good ass food. The owners were Italian and Jamaican, so you got the best of both worlds when you ate here.

Me and Yayo handled a problem for the owner, Toni, so we were always welcomed and treated like royalty whenever we came through. The backdoor was already jarred open when I stopped the car and killed the engine. I spotted Yayo’s whip parked right in front of ours.

“An alley?” Skye was confused.

“Yeah, to avoid having to find parking and walking to the restaurant… I know you don’t want to walk three blocks in those heels,” I looked down at her sexy ass feet.

“Hell no,” she confirmed what I had already knew.

I got out and opened the door for her. Taking her hand in mine, we came through the backdoor, into the kitchen until we were in the dining room of the restaurant.

“Mo, what’s up withcha?” Toni greeted me. “And who is this beauty? Mo, you always got a beautiful one on your arm.” He hit me in the arm.

“This is my girl, Skye,” I introduced him to her.

“Nice to meet you.” She shook his hand, but he pulled her hand up to his mouth and kissed the top of it.

“It’s always a pleasure. I got your favorite booth ready with Yayo and Bree,” he waved for us to follow him over to the booth.

Whenever we were at Capones, we always sat toward the back in the oversized red velvet booth. It didn’t matter who was eating here when we arrived, they would always be moved to make room for us to sit there.

“My man!” Yayo stood up. “Thought you got lost or some shit,” he joked, and I waved him off.

“Shut up. I had to wait for somebody to finish her makeup,” I put Skye on the spot, and she pinched me.

“Well, then our time wasn’t wasted because you look stunning,” Bree climbed out the booth and greeted Skye.
